This weekend was a prime example of how much fun it is for Aaron and I to travel with our family. Now I know you all are thinking you guy are so lucky you can travel whenever you want and for a very little amount of money. But let me tell you it is so much work for us to get from point A to point B.
- Our travels started off on Friday we were at the Airport at 6:00am trying to get on a 7:45 flight. They boarded everyone one the plane and started calling standbys. When a hand full of people started coming off another connecting flight. So then they called all the standbys off the plane to give the passengers there seats. Realized they will still be able to get everyone on so they tell us to just go find any open seats. Almost ready to take off when they ask everyone to get off the plane because they have to change two flat tires. So this puts us an hour delayed. We only have an hour and a bit to get our connecting flight in Newark on a different airlines.
-Finally get to Newark race to get to our next flight which means going out of security then back through only to barely get on the flight.
-Get to Halifax at 3:00pm hurry and get a rental car only to drive 2 hours to get to Antigonish were the wedding was. Pull in at 4:55pm the rehearsal starts at 5:00pm. (I can't believe we made it.)
-Saturday is the Wedding, it finally gets over and we have to drive back to Halifax (2hour) where we have a hotel so we can get up and be at our 6:30am flight. We live at 11:00pm and an hour and a half down the road Aaron's dad realizes he has the rental keys to mom's car in his pocket. So we have to turn around and drive all the way back to drop them off. Finally get to the hotel after 2 in the morning only to wake back up at 4:30 am to get to the airport for 5.
(THIS IS WHERE IT GETS BAD!!)
-We get on our flight to Newark and in Newark we run to get on a 8:00 flight...out security and back in. Get to the gate at 7:50 and they have already closed the flight with open seats on it. We watch the plane leave only thinking oh well we'll just get on the 10:00 flight.
- We didn't get on the 10:00 flight, apparently it was over sold and they took volunteers to go on a later flight. Little did we know we were not going to get out on any flights that day to Charlotte from Newark.
- So plane B. We rented a car and drove 2 1/2 hour to Philly. Missed the 3:45pm flight because it took so long to drop our car off.
-So we went to the gate for the 5:45 flight. Only to see that it was over sold and they were taking volunteers to come off and we found out that they're were 40 standby people waiting to get on. But that's not all...then they down sized the plane and had to take another hand full of people off and move them over to the later flight.
-Please don't forget Aaron and I are running on less the 2 hours of sleep!!
- We go and have dinner because we know there is now way in you know where that were going to get on the 7:00pm flight and the 8:20 is our last chance. It look hopeful though probably 80 open seats.
-We finally get back to Charlotte after 10:30pm to get in Gabby at home in bed by 11:25pm. Poor Aaron had to get back up at 5am to get on a flight to Philly for work. (Wasn't he just there a few hours ago!!)

So I know your reading this thinking this is so long but it doesn't even compare to the over 17hours we spent that day traveling all on the luxurious life of standby. And now Aaron is at work all week and I'm sitting at home with a very sick baby. So please support us when we have to regretfully decline next time someone asks us to come out to visit. I'm pretty sure well be staying at home for awhile now!!

Trust me it's really not all that exciting, I don't really have much to post just this one because I had some venting to do!
